China-Philippines Gen Z Vision 2024: Short Video Contest Launched to Promote Green Energy
MANILA – In a collaborative effort to promote sustainable and clean energy practices, Energy China and the Association for Philippines-China Understanding (APCU) have launched the ‘China-Philippines Gen Z Vision’ short video contest. The competition, which officially began on August 5, is supported by Global Times Online and several university partners including the Confucius Institutes at Angeles University Foundation, University of the Philippines Diliman, Ateneo de Davao University, and Ateneo De Manila University.
According to Philippines News Agency, the contest is designed to engage Generation Z participants from China and the Philippines to express their views on green living and the future of relations between the two nations. The competition is centered around three themes: “Green Energy,” “Harmonious Ecology,” and “China-Philippine Exchanges,” aiming to foster a greater understanding and exchange between the two cultures through the lens of the younger generation.
Participants in the contest include university students, employees from Chinese and Philippine enterprises, and any young individuals engaged in Sino-Philippine relations. Entrants are encouraged to create videos that reflect the merging of cultures and envision a sustainable, green future. Submissions are to be sent to the designated email ([email protected]) by September 30, and participants are also asked to share their videos on international social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok using the hashtag #ChinaPhilippinesGenZVision.
The contest will feature an expert review panel that will select winners for several awards, including one gold, two silver, and three bronze prizes, along with special awards for creativity, storytelling, energy, and filmmaking. The top prizes include high-tech gadgets like a DJI Osmo Pocket 3, Huawei Freebuds Pro 3, and a Western Digital hard drive, with additional awards such as a Bluetooth speaker for special category winners.
