PASIG CITY – Chery Tiggo secured the top spot in Pool A of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference following a decisive straight-set victory over Nxled at the PhilSports Arena on Saturday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Katherine Briana Bell led Chery Tiggo with a stellar performance, scoring 21 points comprised of 19 kills and two aces, wrapping up the game in just one hour and 33 minutes. Teammate Ara Galang added significant support with seven kills and four blocks, emphasizing the team’s strategy to balance contributions between the import players and the local roster.
Chery Tiggo’s collective effort was further bolstered by Jasmine Nabor’s 12 excellent sets and rookie Karen Verdeflor’s 10 excellent receptions. This victory marks Chery Tiggo’s second win, following their previous success against Farm Fresh earlier in the week. Head coach Kungfu Reyes highlighted the importance of maintaining momentum, especially after consecutive victories.
On the opposing side, Nxled’s top scorers included Hart Meegan with nine points, and Lycha Ebon and Jhona Louisse Maraguinot, who contributed eight and seven points respectively.
