The Ministry of Education continues to be attentive towards the country’s education needs, not exempting Temburong District. The re-construction of Sultan Hassan Secondary School at a new site in Kampung Batu Apoi will provide comfort not only for the students but also the teachers. According to the Minister of Education, Temburong District will also benefit from several skills programmes conducted by the Life Long Learning Centre. In an interview during the Special Programme ‘Temburong : Green Jewel of Brunei Darussalam’, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman explained that Temburong District was also given the recognition to start the Centre of Excellence for Special Education initiative which is the Literacy and Numeracy Coaching Program.
“Temburong District has also been given the honor to initiate the Centre of Excellence Initiative for special education. Sultan Hassan Primary School and Rataie Primary School are two of the schools selected to pioneer the initiative. These programmes are hoped to provide students who need special education sufficient and optimal facilities and teachers as well as give them the opportunities to together enjoy quality education.”
