Walkathon Organized in Temburong for Hijrah New Year Celebration

Temburong: In conjunction with Ilal Hijrah 1447, the Temburong District Religious Affairs Office organized a Hijrah Walkathon on the morning of 29th June. The 3.4-kilometer walk began and concluded at the Kampung Selapon Da’wah Post. Participants included Awang Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, Member of the Legislative Council; and Awang Hassan Baha bin Haji Umar, Acting Temburong District Officer.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Masjid Universiti, Universiti Brunei Darussalam Takmir Committee also hosted a similar event. It provided congregants an opportunity to partake in walking, reflecting the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam.

Additionally, the An Naim Mosque Kampung Panchor Mengkubau Takmir Committee and Muslimah organized their own walkathon. This 1.6-kilometer walk commenced and concluded at the mosque, further enhancing community involvement in the celebration.
