TALISAY CITY — A 33-year-old woman was arrested in Talisay City during a police buy-bust operation on Friday night, resulting in the seizure of PHP 6.1 million worth of shabu.
According to Philippines News Agency, chief of the Talisay City Police, the suspect, known as 'Rona,' was apprehended near her residence in Barangay San Isidro following weeks of police surveillance. The operation was part of a targeted effort to dismantle a local drug distribution network that Rona allegedly managed with her partner, identified only as 'Joe.' While Rona handled the financial aspects of the operation, Joe, who remains at large, reportedly oversaw the distribution of one to two kilos of shabu weekly across three villages in Talisay City.
The confiscated drugs have been sent to the Cebu Provincial Forensic Unit for testing. Meanwhile, authorities are preparing drug charges against the suspect as they continue to investigate and seek her accomplice.
