Post: Cebu City Police Seize Nearly P7-Million Worth of Suspected Shabu, Arrest Two Individuals

Cebu City — Police in Cebu City have confiscated suspected shabu with a street value nearing PHP7 million in separate operations aimed at combating drug-related activities.

According to a news release by Philippines News Agency, chief of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 7 (Central Visayas), two suspects were arrested in the operations. Rea de Jesus Caytor, also known as 'Yang,' was taken into custody in Barangay Bacayan on Thursday night after a tip-off and surveillance operation. The authorities seized suspected shabu valued at PHP1.7 million from her.

Ronald Pardillo Bacus, known by the alias 'Onix,' was arrested in Rainbow Village, Barangay Kinasang-an on Tuesday night. The arrest resulted in the seizure of PHP5.1 million worth of suspected shabu.

Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, chief of the Police Regional Office 7, acknowledged the efforts of the police force, highlighting their dedication to the anti-drug campaign even during the election period for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections. Aberin noted the importance of a competent police force supported by innovative technology and community backing in achieving substantial results, such as significant seizures and the arrest of major drug dealers, thereby maintaining peace and security in Central Visayas.

Both Caytor and Bacus are currently facing drug charges.
