Brunei Sultan Calls for Enhanced Spiritual and Scientific Mental Health Initiatives

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei emphasized the importance of integrating scientific and spiritual approaches to mental health through education during his address for the 1446 Hijrah New Year celebration. The Sultan’s message was broadcast nationwide as part of the annual observance.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the concept of hijrah, which signifies a migration towards betterment, should be reflected in the ongoing improvement of mental health programs. This includes enhancing both religious education and dakwah (Islamic propagation) to foster a more positive change in the community. His Majesty expressed his gratitude for the peace and blessings that allowed the country to celebrate the new Hijrah year, attributing these to divine grace.
