Post: Brunei Stresses Diversification and Foreign Investment at Economic Forum

Bandar seri begawan: The government of His Majesty is firmly committed to diversification through the development of priority sectors, expanding trade relations, and positioning Brunei Darussalam as a trusted destination for foreign direct investment. The Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy emphasized this during the Third Brunei Economic Forum, organized by the School of Business and Economics at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). The forum was held at UBD’s Chancellor Hall on the morning of September 3rd.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid highlighted the need for forward-looking policies to strengthen competitiveness. He stressed that the country must advance its diversification agenda, deepen trade relationships, and equip its people with the skills required for the future economy. The forum featured a keynote address on ‘Geopolitics in a Multipolar World Economy.’ With the theme ‘Global Economic Uncertainties: Risks and Opportunities for Small Open Economies,’ the forum serves as a significant platform for dialogue on issues central to national development.
