Post: Brunei Reaffirms Commitment to ASEAN Economic Strategies at Business Conference 2025

Bandar seri begawan: As a member of ASEAN, Brunei Darussalam fully supports the ASEAN Community Vision 2045 and the recently adopted ASEAN Economic Community Strategic Plan 2026-2030. Speaking at the Brunei Business Conference 2025, the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy highlighted the importance of these frameworks in strengthening ASEAN’s relevance, resilience, and global competitiveness. In a keynote address on the Brunei economy, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah stated that Brunei Darussalam reaffirmed its shared commitment to open markets, supply chain resilience, and sustainable development.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the conference discussions centered on how Brunei can modernize its digital infrastructure, empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, and enhance its role in the region’s emerging digital economy. Among the panelists was Awang Mohammad Nazri bin Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications. The conference is hosted by the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Brunei and the APEC Business Advisory Council Brunei, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
