Post: Brunei Darussalam Targets 85% Home Ownership by 2025

Bandar seri begawan: The rate of home ownership in Brunei Darussalam today is approximately 68.1 percent, with an estimated annual increase of about 0.5 percent. This trend shows consistent progress, but at the same time, underscores the need to expedite efforts in a more integrated manner in order to achieve the target of 85 percent by 2025.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the continuous commitment of His Majesty's government, through the Ministry of Development, ensures that every citizen possesses homes that are comfortable, safe, and of reasonably high quality. A focused and integrated approach is designed around three main strategic thrusts, namely expanding the provision of affordable housing; ensuring that development is implemented in a planned, inclusive, and sustainable manner; and empowering access to housing financing.

Several new sites have been identified in all four districts as a continuation of the country's housing development. Providing a sustainable, safe, inclusive, and resilient national infrastructure supports Goal Two of Wawasan Brunei 2035, which is to ensure a high quality of life for the citizens. A prosperous population is able to contribute to a dynamic and sustainable economy.
