Minister Highlights Plans for Sports Infrastructure and Tourism Development


Bandar Seri Begawan: Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, elaborated on the initiatives for developing sports facilities and organizing annual sports tourism events at the Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge. The minister emphasized the importance of a collaborative approach in these efforts.



According to Radio Television Brunei, the Ministry is embracing a whole-of-nation strategy by involving various entities, including the private sector and government-linked companies. These organizations are seen as strategic partners through Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The Ministry is also exploring public-private partnerships to enhance and upgrade sports infrastructure to meet international standards.



Yang Berhormat further mentioned the formation of a committee tasked with conducting detailed studies and assessments on the feasibility of hosting sports tourism events. This includes ensuring that technical, logistical, and safety aspects align with international standards to facilitate major events successfully.
