Job Fair in Pangasinan Sees Immediate Hires Amidst Independence Day Celebrations
Rosales, Pangasinan — Fifty-two job seekers were hired on the spot during the Independence Day job fair at SM City Rosales, Pangasinan, on Wednesday. The event offered a significant number of local and overseas employment opportunities, drawing a large crowd of hopeful applicants.
According to Philippines News Agency, manager of the Rosales Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the job fair featured approximately 1,678 local job vacancies and 1,873 positions for overseas employment. Sabado highlighted the event as a celebration of “Filipino resilience,” reflecting the national spirit on Independence Day. Among the successful candidates was Julius Pacunla, a recent BS Education graduate who secured a position as a storekeeper with a local business on his first job application, expressing gratitude for the opportunity.
The fair, attended by 14 local employers, offered a variety of positions including nurses, customer relations services supervisors, sales clerks, and skilled trades like plumbers and electricians. Additionally, international job opportunities were available with employers from Abu Dhabi, Japan, Germany, Brunei, Czech Republic, Austria, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, covering roles from caregivers to engineers.
KJ Santiago, SM public relations officer, mentioned that job seekers also accessed services from several government agencies including the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Social Security System, enhancing the support for applicants both local and abroad. The PESO office remains open for those interested in applying for jobs post-event, continuing the support for local job seekers.
