ASEAN Conference on Future-Ready Public Service Highlights Innovation and Leadership in Public Sector

Selangor: Brunei Darussalam is committed in continuing to strengthen an adaptive, innovative, and resilient Public Service to meet the future aspirations and needs of the citizens in line with the objectives of Wawasan Brunei 2035. The matter was emphasised through a presentation by the Permanent Secretary for Civil Service Governance at the Prime Minister’s Office during the ASEAN Conference on Future-Ready Public Service in Selangor, Malaysia.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Awang Ajman bin Haji Meludin, as Head of the Civil Service, shared Brunei Darussalam’s ongoing efforts to foster innovation and cultivate leadership. The presentation underscored the nation’s strategic initiatives in developing forward-looking programmes that strengthen innovation capacity, enhance cross-sector collaboration, and promote leadership excellence as critical pillars in building a resilient and agile civil service equipped to meet future challenges.

Themed ‘Inclusivity and Sustainability’, the conference was organised by the Public Service Department of Malaysia in conjunction with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025. The conference concluded with the adoption of the ASEAN Declaration on Future-Ready Public Service by the Heads of Civil Services from all ASEAN Member States.
