AirAsia Philippines to Launch Manila-Nagoya Flights in October
MANILA – AirAsia Philippines announced the expansion of its route network to Japan with the introduction of a new flight service between Manila and Nagoya, starting October 29. This new route aims to cater to the increasing demand for travel between the two countries, as Japan remains a highly favored destination among Filipino travelers.
According to Philippines News Agency, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Philippines, the airline will operate three flights a week from Ninoy Aquino International Airport to Chubu International Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. “Japan is one of the strongest regional markets for AirAsia Philippines,” Isla stated during a press briefing on Wednesday.
The decision to launch the new route was bolstered by findings from a recent Statista survey, which indicated that 48 percent of Filipinos prefer Japan as a holiday destination. This insight is consistent with trends observed by competitor Cebu Pacific, which has also expanded its services between Japan and Cebu due to strong traveler interest.
AirAsia currently operates flights to Narita and Osaka from Manila and plans to commence the Nagoya flights in time for the autumn season, promoting the route as an opportunity for travelers to experience Japan’s sunny yet cooler weather. Additionally, the airline has introduced a promotional offer, allowing travelers to book one-way base fare tickets to Nagoya for as low as PHP888 until August 11, valid for travel dates from October 29, 2024, to March 29, 2025.
