Active Weather Advisory Issued by Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department

Bandar seri begawan: The general public, including road users and mariners, are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure safety during active weather conditions. The Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department, under the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, has issued an advisory due to the country’s weather conditions being impacted by Severe Tropical Storm ‘FENGSHEN’ until Saturday, 25th October.

According to Radio Television Brunei, occasional heavy and gusty showers or thundershowers are expected to affect several areas of the country. Wind gusts could reach up to 50 kilometres per hour during heavy showers. The sea state is anticipated to be generally rough, with conditions ranging from Slight to Moderate between 0.7 to 1.4 metres. There is a risk of flash floods, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas, as well as near river banks during continuous heavy rain and high tide. Strong winds pose a threat to unstable structures, increasing the risk of falling trees and blown-off roofs. Moderate sea conditions are considered dangerous for small boat operations.
