8th Edition of Youth Town Hall Highlights Economic Blueprint for Brunei

Bandar seri begawan: The Brunei Darussalam Economic Blueprint outlines a strategic plan to achieve the Third Goal of Wawasan Brunei 2035, focusing on building a dynamic and sustainable economy. Under the Economic Blueprint, the food industry and tourism have been identified as two of the five priority sectors driving new growth, high-value jobs, and innovation, alongside ICT, downstream oil and gas, and services. The Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism emphasised the matter at the 8th Edition of Youth Town Hall. The event, in conjunction with the 20th National Youth Day Celebration, was held at the Prime Minister’s Office. The event carried the theme ‘Youth in Action: Powering Brunei’s Economic Future’.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin also said that alongside the Food Industry Roadmap, the Brunei Darussalam Tourism Industry Roadmap 2024-2035 sets clear ambitions. By 2035, the sector aims to generate around 1.1 billion Brunei dollars in tourism revenue, supported by a projected increase to 1.4 million international visitors annually. The event was jointly organised by the Young Professionals Network Brunei and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, supported by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
