Bangkok: The 33rd Southeast Asian Games, held in Thailand from December 9th, concluded on the night of December 20th. His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, the SEA Games Federation Honorary Life President and President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council, attended the closing ceremony at Rajamangala National Stadium.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Thailand emerged as the overall champion of this edition, securing a total of 233 gold medals. Indonesia and Vietnam followed in the medal tally. Brunei Darussalam's contingent finished their mission in 9th place, achieving 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals. The ceremony also included the official handing over of the SEA Games flag to Malaysia, the host for the 34th SEA Games in 2027.
