Turkiye Cultural Day Highlights Artistic Traditions at Universiti Brunei Darussalam

Bandar seri begawan: Turkish history, art, and culture were featured in an interactive exhibition, showcasing Ebru or Turkish water marbling art, calligraphy, archery, music, and cuisine during the Turkiye Cultural Day held on 29th July 2025. The event was organized by Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkiye and the Yunus Emre Institute, and it took place at UBD.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Doctor Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, was present at the event. Professor Doctor Hamit Ersoy, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to Brunei Darussalam, highlighted in his remarks the importance of language learning in developing a deeper understanding of a culture. He noted that in Brunei Darussalam, 14 institutions are conducting Turkish language courses, which signifies a positive growth in people-to-people interaction between the two countries.
