Youths are the main pillars in determining the direction and progress of a nation. The importance of youths depends on their role as the catalysts of a country’s development and progress. Awang Hazwan bin Suhaini, owner of Gentleman Stitch answered the call by venturing into the field of designing men’s suits.
Awang Hazwan challenged himself to manufacture and produce his own suits as in Brunei Darussalam, the field is monopolised by foreigners. Thus, he was determined to operate the Gentleman Stitch which at the same time became the first Brunei Malay brand for men’s suits. Initially, Awang Hazwan made house calls for measuring, fitting and delivery of the suits. Gentleman Stitch began operations at its current location in October 2020.
In the long term, Awang Hazwan’s plan is to further expand his business, He also hopes that his business will become a source of inspiration for youths to develop the local fashion industry.
