Discussion on the youth’s internalisation and understanding on the value of independence from history’s perspective, as well as the youth’s aspiration on the value independence that had been achieved were among the topics discussed in the Forum with Youth Programme. Held in conjunction with the 39th National Day celebration, the forum took place at the Brunei History Centre in the capital.
In attendance were Pengiran Haji Mohd. Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary for Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, and Doctor Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The forum featured 3 panellists who discussed on how the young generation of today and the future can develop their self-identity and the country in celebrating independence. The forum was a collaboration between the Brunei Youth Council as the Brunei History Centre’s strategic partner, and the Student’s Representative Councils of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University and the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College.
