All levels of society need to play their role through the Whole of Nation approach to preserve the marine ecosystem. In addition, global awareness on the benefits derived from the ocean especially in the fisheries and tourism sectors should also be enhanced.
Speaking at the the World Oceans Day 2022 celebration, Dayang Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism also emphasised that joint action at the national, regional and international levels needs to be implemented to maintain the well-being of the oceans. The World Oceans Day is celebrated on every 8th of June. This year’s celebration carried the theme “Conservation: Joint Action To Preserve The Oceans”.
