Better Knowledge for Better Care is the theme for this year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking or World Drug Day. It is celebrated every 26th of June. Brunei Darussalam through the Narcotic Control Bureau, NCB, is not exceptional in giving support by carrying out relevant activities. In this regard, the Launching Ceremony of the celebration was held at the NCB Headquarters in Jalan Tungku, Gadong, yesterday morning.
The launching was led by Awang Haji Mohammad Jaffari bin Haji Awang Haji Mahadi, Acting Director of NCB. This year’s theme highlights the current need to provide knowledge in relation to the efforts in solving the dissemination of false information on drug issues. It also aim to improve the understanding of the world drug problem and foster greater international cooperation for countering its impact on health, governance and security.
As currently the country is not exceptional from facing the COVID-19 which restricts public movement and in organising activity, the NCB through the Preventive Drug Education Division has to postpone all activities that have been lined up. Hence, NCB takes the approach by turning to social media empowerment as an alternative to all target groups in celebrating this year’s International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. This aimed to penetrate all the targeted group to visit the Preventive Drug Education Division’s social media by following the latest info on NCB as well as making Instagram and Facebook as the official media platform for NCB to disseminate information.
