Bandar seri begawan: All parties play a crucial role in ensuring that our food is safe and does not pose health risks. The matter was emphasised during a workshop in conjunction with the 2025 World Food Safety Day. The opening ceremony of the workshop took place at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health, 2nd July morning.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Dayang Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, who is also a member of the Brunei Darussalam Food Authority Board of Directors, stated that food industry stakeholders involved in food importing, manufacturing or retailing have a major role in safeguarding public health. The one-day workshop emphasised the critical role of science and evidence-based approaches in ensuring the food supply’s safety, quality, and integrity, in which the shared responsibility requires collaboration, innovation, and continuous vigilance. This year’s workshop carried the theme ‘Food Safety: Science in Action.’
