MANILA: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. commented on Vice President Sara Z. Duterte's recent political statements, suggesting she is exploring her options for future electoral pursuits. Speaking on Tuesday, Marcos discussed Duterte's announcement made in Davao City the previous day, where she expressed interest in running for public office in the next elections. "I think she's also testing the waters to see what the reaction will be," President Marcos stated during a taped interview with GMA's 24 Oras. However, he revealed that he has not yet had a detailed discussion with Duterte regarding her plans.
According to Philippines News Agency, whose vice-presidential term concludes in 2028, did not specify which position she is considering. Her announcement comes ahead of the 2025 national elections for senators and Congress representatives, alongside local elections.
