Poh Chin Yan received her first Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccine injection on the 13th of May via the BruHealth application. At 96 years old, Poh Chin Yan experienced no side effects after the injection. She believes that COVID-19 vaccines will not bring harm to the recipient and advises senior citizens to NOT be afraid and concerned in receiving the vaccine shot.
Another senior citizen, Voon Yun Chin, aged 93 stated the effects of COVID-19 has encouraged her to get the vaccine. She received her first dose of Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccine on the 25th of May.
The Ministry of Health highly welcomes and gives priority to senior citizens to get the COVID-19 vaccine injection. Senior citizens are advised to reserve a COVID-19 vaccine injection slot through the BruHealth App to avoid a long waiting time. Scientific studies show the elderly are at a higher risk of getting more severe complications from COVID-19 infection, and COVID-19 vaccine shots have been shown to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection in the elderly.
