Brunei darussalam: Brunei Darussalam is currently in the Monsoon Transition phase, which is expected to continue until November. At 5 in the morning, 19th October, Tropical Storm ‘FENGSHEN’ was detected in the Western Pacific Ocean, approximately 1,500 km away from Brunei Darussalam and is forecasted to move northwestwards.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the storm is expected to indirectly influence the weather in the country. Occasional heavy and gusty showers or thundershowers are anticipated, primarily affecting sea and coastal areas. Wind gusts could reach up to 45 kilometres per hour in or near heavy thundershowers. Meanwhile, over Brunei waters, sea conditions are generally slight, with wave heights ranging between 0.5 metre and 1 metre. These may temporarily increase to a moderate state of up to 2 metre during gusty showers. The public, including road users and mariners, are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure safety during active weather conditions.
