As part of efforts to upgrade services for the public, the Department of Immigration and National registration, Ministry of Home Affairs, informed that the Smart Identity Card registration and collection service counters will be opened every Friday at all branches starting from 30th of September 2022, from 8 to 11 in the morning.
Awang Haji Azmi bin Haji Rahim, Acting Director of Immigration and National Registration said that transition to the new identification card system has been re-implemented in stages. For those who have registered for a yellow Identity card between 17th February 2022 and 9th August 2022, and those who have registered for a purple Identity card during the period from 12th July 2021 to 9th August 2022, are requested to go to the Smart Card Identity Section for fingerprints retrieval and face photo to meet the requirements of the new identification card system.
