Brunei Darussalam is still in the transitional monsoon with weather conditions expected to be active this week until the 25th of October 2021. It is due to the formation of rain clouds and active thunderstorms in the country and will further increase the amount of rainfall.
Thunderstorms are expected to occur inland in the afternoon and spread heavily with thunderstorms moving into coastal areas at night. Rain is expected to be heavy and occasionally windy with speeds that can increase up to 45 kilometres per hour. Sea conditions are generally rough at levels slightly below 1 meter throughout the week. The public are advised to be aware of the high risk of flash floods, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas as well as near river banks during heavy rains. Landslides as well as falling trees may also occur during rainy and windy conditions.
