The Committee Level Deliberations for the Ministry of Health Highlight Key Issues
Bandar Seri Begawan: Mental health symptoms among the young generation, privatisation initiatives, and improvement of service quality were among the issues raised by Appointed Members during the Committee Level deliberations for the Ministry of Health.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the discussions underscored concerns about the rising incidence of mental health symptoms in the younger population. The deliberations also addressed the need for initiatives aimed at privatising certain health services, constructing laboratories, and enhancing service quality to expedite the analysis process.
The Committee highlighted the importance of ensuring the validity of food product testing accreditation in compliance with international standards. They also emphasized the necessity for greater access to laboratory services for the public and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises.
Equal access to health facilities and prioritization of treatment for critical illnesses were also significant points of discussion. The Committee stressed the importance of improving the quality of paramedic services as a crucial aspect of healthcare.
Furthermore, the construction of pharmaceutical and basic medical equipment factories was identified as a vital step towards enhancing the country’s healthcare infrastructure.
