Technology Training Programme

Technical and Vocational Education and Training, T-VET institutions in the region need to adapt their teaching and learning technologies in line with the needs of the industry. Digitalisation has entered the world of work at a massive scale, and it brings about a range of opportunities as well as challenges to not only the private sector, but T-VET providers as well. The Deputy Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education stressed the matter at the opening ceremony of the Training of Trainers on Automotive Technology and Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration, HVAC Technology using Virtual TVET In-Country Training Programme for Brunei Darussalam. The event took place yesterday morning at the SEAMEO VOCTECH Regional Centre.

Doctor Chin Wei Keh expressed hope that by embedding technology in the T-VET curricula, it will not only produce a future-ready workforce that is skilled for the digitalised world of work, but also creates value in the workplace and enhances the nation's economic competitiveness.

53 participants from Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE and industry practitioners are participating in a two-day In-Country Training Programme. It is among the first initiatives in kickstarting the digital pedagogy training for T-VET instructors and trainers, aimed to provide innovative ways as well as approaches to their delivery of training.
