A consortium comprising several telecommunications companies in the region signed agreements to invest for a submarine cable system in Southeast Asia.
Aimed to boost data capacity in the Southeast Asian region and upgrade local capacities, the ‘Asia Link Cable’ ALC submarine cable system will be approximately 6 thousand kilometres in length, connecting Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines and is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2025. The investment made by the Unified National Networks, UNN Sdn Bhd, aims to provide for growing internet needs in the region.
