MANILA — American gymnast Simone Biles has set a significant milestone by becoming the oldest all-around champion in gymnastics since 1952 at the age of 27. Biles clinched her historic title in a commanding performance, outscoring Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade and fellow American Sunisa Lee.

Tokyo 2020 champion Suni Lee finished with a bronze medal, scoring 56.465. This victory marks a momentous achievement in gymnastics, as Biles becomes the oldest all-around gold medalist since then-30-year-old Soviet gymnast Maria Gorokhovskaya in 1952.
Further cementing her legacy, Biles also surpassed a 120-year-old record to become the only US gymnast to win six Olympic gold medals. Her unparalleled performance continues to elevate the standards in the sport, previously highlighted by her six gold medals at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
