Search Underway for Missing Fisherman After Sea Collision in Masbate

Masbate-The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is currently conducting a search and rescue operation for Roldan Marientes, a 23-year-old fisherman who went missing following a collision at sea near Burias Island, Masbate on Saturday. The incident involved a fishing motor banca and an unidentified vessel.

According to Philippines News agency, the search is being led by PCG Sub-Station San Pascual in Masbate and involves coordination with local fisherfolk and neighboring villages. The collision occurred while Marientes and his brother Roland were asleep aboard their boat, MBCA Dandan. Roland was rescued by a passing vessel and the PCG is continuing efforts to locate Roldan while also investigating to identify the vessel involved in the incident.
