Post: School-Based Disaster Risk Management Programme Cultivates Preparedness Among Students

Gadong: The School-Based Disaster Risk Management Program, organized by the National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is fostering a culture of disaster preparedness among school children across the nation, particularly targeting both government and private schools. The initiative, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and relevant agencies, recently took place at Kesuma Mekar Rimba School in Gadong.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the program was attended by over 40 participants, including teachers and students from Years four and five. This two-day event aimed to enhance understanding of potential risks and provided practical training, equipping participants with the skills necessary to respond safely and effectively during emergencies. The program concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants, marking their successful completion of the training.
