After the Four-Eye Meeting, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to proceed together with the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Baitul Masyuarah to witness the signing of the Bilateral Agreement for Mutual Fibre Optic Exchange and Grant of Indefeasible Right of Use, IRU between DST Communications Sendirian Berhad and SACOPA Sendirian Berhad.

Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; and His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Signing on behalf of DST Communications Sendirian Berhad was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office, while SACOPA Sendirian Berhad was represented by Yang Berhormat Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hasan, Second Minister of Resource and Environment Planning and Minister of Industrial Development of the State of Sarawak.

Both countries welcomed the progress on telecommunications collaboration between SACOFA, Sarawak and DST Communications, Brunei Darussalam and were pleased with the signing of the bilateral agreement.
