Bilateral relationship between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea has rapidly developed over the past decades. Trade volume between the two countries, now recording about 2 billion Brunei Dollars, has grown more than 9 times and Brunei has been an important partner of Korea in the energy sector.
In addition, infrastructure cooperation’s are revitalized with the Temburong and the Sungai Kebun bridge projects. The Ambassador of the Republic Of Korea highlighted the impressive bilateral cooperation during the reception of Korea’s National Foundation Day.
Representing His Majesty’s Government was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah, Minister of Development. His Excellency Cho Won-Myung added His Majesty’s visit to Korea served as an opportunity to elevate the 30-year-old Korea-Brunei friendship to a higher level through seeking and exploring future-oriented co-operations in environment, tourism, ICT, SME’s, E-Commerce, medical and other creative and innovative industry, for both countries’ sustainable growth. Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea are working together in strengthening strategic communications and co-operations, in order to promote regional security. The reception was held at The Empire Hotel and Country Club in Jerudong.
