In conjunction with this year’s 31st Teachers Day celebration, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs will organise the reading of Surah Yasin and Tahlil ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit. This will be followed by a Doa Kesyukuran and An-Nur Special Forum.
In light of the current COVID-19 situation in Brunei Darussalam and control measures that are still in effect, the ceremony will be broadcast through RTB Perdana and RTB Sukmaindera, as well as all RTB radio channels on Thursday, 23rd September 2021 starting at 6:30 in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, the An-Nur Special Forum in conjunction with the 31st Teacher’s Day will be broadcast at 9 in the evening. This year’s Teacher’s Day celebration carries the theme ‘Pendidikan Berkualiti Teras Kecemerlangan Pelajar’ or Quality Education, the Core of Student’s Excellence. Religious events to commemorate Teacher’s Day continue to be held to express gratitude towards Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala for all the blessings and that everyone in Brunei Darussalam can have an education based on the National Education System that places emphasis on the importance of knowledge on the world and the Hereafter.
