The relationship between Russia and Brunei Darussalam has steadily developed from strength to strength in many areas, among them in the fields of trade, science, education, politics, security, defence, addressing new challenges and threats. His Excellency Vladimir Borisovich Goncharenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation stated the matter at the reception in conjunction with the National Day of the Russian Federation.
Representing His Majesty’s Government at the reception was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the country, in his remarks among other things highlighted the friendly nature of the Brunei-Russia ties whose 30th anniversary is marked this year. He also emphasized the significance of regional cooperation, particularly in the context of Brunei’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2021. The function took place LAST NIGHT at a hotel in Gadong.
