The economic relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Russian federation continue to develop with bilateral trade amount this year reaching more than 50 million US dollars compared to only 25 million dollars in 2015. This achievement has the potential to be increased. This dynamic achievement is based on the energy ties aside from other wide-scope perspectives in transportation, infrastructure, agriculture, halal production and trade, communications, biotechnology and tourism. This was stated by His Excellency Vladlen Semivolos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the country at the Reception in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Russia and Brunei Darussalam, last night.

Representing the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education. His Excellency in his speech stressed that the 2 countries have the common view that the establishment of direct ties in trade in the 2 countries will achieve the desired objective. He added, the 2 countries share many common interests and strong partnership based on mutual understanding, trust equality and respect. The positive progress will attribute to the good understanding and mutual respect between the leaders of both countries.
