A Family Day activities were held at the Muara Naval Base yesterday in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee anniversary celebration of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), which was attended by its commander, First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad.

Following the launch of the event, the Navy commander presented certificates of appreciation to companies for their generous sponsorship for the event as well as to the designer of the event’s logo, 1007 Lieutenant DYA Awangku Faizul Azmizan bin Pengiran Haji Razali.

The navy commander then proceeded to visit the exhibition booths set up at the venue as various activities kicked off for the public.

Activities included live band performances, horse riding, riding a flying fox, bouncers, a 4-wheel drive vehicle exhibition, sport fests, the sale of food and locally-made products, a colouring competition, a reptile exhibition, a lucky draw and a visit to a RBN ship.

The ship ride was an opportunity for the public to briefly glimpse and experience what life is like in the navy. The event was held to show appreciation to the families of naval staff and the general public for playing an integral role in keeping the morale of personnel.

The Golden Jubilee fell on June 14 and the Family Day event was but one of several arranged programmes to mark the occasion.
