Rain Showers to Affect Multiple Regions in the Philippines Due to Two Weather Systems


MANILA – The Philippines is set to experience rain showers across several parts of the country, influenced by two weather systems: the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” affecting extreme northern Luzon, and the easterlies.



According to Philippines News Agency, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, light rain showers are expected in the northern provinces of Batanes and Cagayan due to the northeast monsoon.



PAGASA further forecasts isolated light rain showers in the Ilocos, Cordillera, and Cagayan Valley regions. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
