PVL Announces 2024 Season Opener with All-Filipino Conference
PASIG CITY – The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is set to commence its 2024 season on February 20, featuring an All-Filipino Conference with twelve participating teams.
According to Philippines News Agency, during a press conference at the Discovery Suites Ortigas on Wednesday, the league will welcome newcomers Capital1 and Strong Group alongside the defending champion Creamline and other competitive teams such as Akari, Choco Mucho, Cignal, Farm Fresh, Galeries, Nxled, Petro Gazz, and PLDT.
The season opener at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City will see Petro Gazz taking on Strong Group at 4 p.m., followed by a match between Chery Tiggo and Capital1 at 6 p.m. The league’s schedule includes games every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, utilizing a round-robin format for the preliminary round, which extends from February 20 to April 27. The semifinals will also follow a round-robin format, culminating in a best-of-three series for the finals.
Broadcasting arrangements have been made to ensure extensive coverage of the PVL 2024 season. Matches will be available on free-to-air channel One Sports, in high definition on One Sports+, and streamed online through the league’s official website PVL.ph. Additionally, the Pilipinas Live app will offer live and on-demand viewing options, and the games will be aired on the new free-to-air channel, RPTV.
