Public Order Act

As a result of likely causing public alarm through a video recording which contained a false statement, a local woman was produced at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

 

Hajah  Faizah  binti  Haji Abdul  Gapar  was charged under Section 34, of the Public Order Act, Chapter 148 and if found guilty,  faces a maximum penalty of a fine of $3,000 and 3 years imprisonment. In the video recording, the defendant claimed that a restaurant in Mabohai had been discovered by the police to be operating with employees who were in violation of their Quarantine Orders.
