PTTC and Monde Nissin Corp Partnership Aids Retirees in Entrepreneurial Ventures


MANILA: The Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has formed a partnership with Monde Nissin Corp., a listed food manufacturing company, to provide entrepreneurial training to the company’s retirees. This initiative aims to facilitate their transition into new careers as entrepreneurs.



According to Philippines News Agency, The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed on Wednesday by PTTC Executive Director Nelly Dillera and Monde Nissin People and Culture director Luz Mercurio, marking the collaboration for Monde Nissin University’s School of Lifelong Learning. Under this partnership, PTTC will lend its expertise and capability-building resources to help Monde Nissin’s retiring employees become competitive entrepreneurs.



The inaugural training program under this collaboration is set to commence in March 2024. Mercurio expressed the company’s ambition for the program, stating, “Being the first of its kind, we aim to enrich Monde Nissin University’s School of Lifelong Learning by providing skills development programs that will support the would-be retirees of the company.” The School of Lifelong Learning is designed to enhance the skills of Monde Nissin employees, equipping them with the necessary financial and entrepreneurial knowledge for their post-retirement ventures.



The PTTC plans to structure the training program around its ASCEND Budding Pathway, one of its Enterprise Learning Pathways. This comprehensive program will incorporate various learning formats, including classroom-style sessions, virtual learning platforms, and mentorship and coaching programs. Additionally, it will provide hands-on practical expertise to develop both the technical and leadership abilities of the participants, preparing them for career advancement in their post-retirement lives.
