The process to obtain a vaccine is not as simple as one might think. According to the Minister of Health, it requires a number of specific processes including discussions with relevant authorities for coordination and permission from product manufacturer.
Yang Berhormat explained that several legal aspects also need to be taken into account to enable vaccine exchanges to be made. Currently, Brunei Darussalam is in negotiations with the Republic of Singapore. The Minister of Health also urged the elderly to get the COVID-19 vaccine injection as they are given priority to get the vaccine. Speaking on quarantine at home, the Minister of Health stressed that when a person is ordered to undergo a quarantine it means they are not allowed to leave the house at all. If the directive is ignored, it will become more difficult to control the spread of the pandemic.
