President Biden Launches TikTok Account Ahead of 2024 Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. President Joe Biden has expanded his social media presence by joining TikTok on Sunday, marking a strategic move as part of his administration’s efforts to engage with a broader audience ahead of the 2024 elections.

According to Philippines News Agency, The campaign’s initial post on the platform featured a casual greeting, “lol hey guys,” alongside a bio emphasizing Biden’s commitment to “Grow the economy.” In his first TikTok video, the President participated in a humorous conversation with an off-screen staffer, revealing his support for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The decision to join TikTok places Biden among the more than three dozen members of Congress, mostly Democrats, who are active on the app. Despite its popularity, TikTok has faced scrutiny from Republican lawmakers due to concerns related to its ownership by the Chinese company ByteDance, highlighting the platform’s controversial status in political circles.
