Presentation of 2 Sets of Braille Books

Two sets of Braille books worth over four hundred dollars were handed over to the Acute Pediatric Unit of the Women and Children Centre, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital and the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind, BDNAB by the High Commission of Canada in Brunei Darussalam. The presentation ceremony which was in conjunction with World Braille Day, was held at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital in Bandar Seri Begawan.

 

The books were presented by Her Excellency Ambra Dickie, High Commissioner of Canada to the country to Awang Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Awang Mohammad Hamzi bin Omar, President of BDNAB. The books in English Language and braille text are for preschool children and children up to the age of 10. The books by Canadian authors and illustrators are reading material for the visually impaired. The ceremony continued with the handing over of souvenirs to 21 children in the Unit.
