Perpetual Help, Benilde Secure Spots in NCAA Volleyball Finals


San Juan — Perpetual Help and College of Saint Benilde concluded the nine-game elimination round of the NCAA Season 99 volleyball tournament with perfect records, earning them automatic spots in the finals. The games took place at FilOil EcoOil Centre on Sunday.



According to Philippines News Agency, three-time men’s champion Perpetual Help won against Emilio Aguinaldo College with scores of 25-23 in all three sets. This victory marks their fifth consecutive season without a loss entering the finals. Louie Ramirez, the reigning Most Valuable Player, scored 19 attacks and an ace. Jefferson Marapoc and Kobe Tabuga added 13 and nine points, respectively, to the tally, with Tabuga recording four blocks.



In contrast, Ervin Patrick Osabel led Emilio Aguinaldo College with 20 attacks, marking their first loss in nine games and securing second place in the standings. Letran, positioned at 5-3, is set to challenge San Sebastian College in the semifinals on Wednesday, while the final slot for the men’s Final Four remains undecided.



On the women’s side, College of Saint Benilde progressed to the championship round after a tough match against Lyceum of the Philippines University, which ended in scores of 21-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21, 15-7. Leading the charge for CSB was Gayle Pascual with 17 attacks and four blocks, supported by Michelle Gamit and Zamantha Nolasco who contributed 14 and 11 points, respectively.



Lyceum, holding a 6-3 record, saw a standout performance from Johna Denise Dolorito, who scored a total of 24 points, 23 from attacks.
