Post: Philippine President Marcos Extends Well Wishes to Trump Following Assassination Attempt

MANILA - President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has extended his best wishes to former U.S. President Donald Trump, who was injured during an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania.

According to Philippines News Agency, the news of Trump's safety following the incident came as a great relief. Through his official X account, Marcos expressed his thoughts and prayers for Trump and his family, emphasizing the Philippines' stance against political violence. "Together with all democracy-loving peoples around the world, we condemn all forms of political violence. The voice of the people must always remain supreme," he stated.

During the rally, which occurred on Saturday (Sunday in the Philippines), Trump was swiftly taken off stage by Secret Service agents after his right ear was grazed by a bullet. The assailant was reportedly neutralized by a sniper. The incident also resulted in one spectator's death and injuries to two others. Trump's team later assured the media that the former president, who is considering another run for the White House, "will be fine."
