Following the latest situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, several countries have begun to reduce travel restrictions, enabling foreign nationals to enter them by imposing specific conditions. The Minister of Health explained the conditions include negative swab tests before being permitted to enter the country.


According to the Minister, the Ministry of Health has received increased applications for swab tests from the public intending to travel abroad for specific reasons, namely those who have been given such permission by the Prime Minister’s Office. The Ministry of Health would like to inform that payment charges for swab tests for the public who have been given permission to travel overseas for specific reasons are: Citizens and Permanent Residents, BND$100.00. Non-citizens including holders of Green Identity Card, BND$200.00. Students who are citizens and Permanent Residents of Brunei Darussalam (including scholarship and private students who are starting or continuing their studies), Government Officers on Official Business and those with special permission from the Ministry of Health are exempted from paying the charges.
